Procurement

Build Nova Scotia ensures all purchasing and tendering activities are conducted in a fair and open manner to ensure we obtain the best value in terms of delivery, products, services, site selection and technical expertise. Business policies are consistent with other Provincial Government Departments, Agencies and Crown Corporations in accordance with the Province of Nova Scotia Sustainable Procurement Policy and all applicable trade agreements. Any tendering for construction work will be conducted in compliance with the standard documents issued by the Canadian Construction Association.

We strive to provide a transparent process for our vendor partners. For more information please contact Todd Brayman, Director, Operations & Procurement, by calling (902) 219-3462, or by email at todd.brayman@buildns.ca. For new business development opportunities on the Halifax waterfront, please contact BDO@buildns.ca.

Please note: On February 13th, 2023, Nova Scotia Procurement will be switching over to a new web service designed to be faster, easier to navigate, user-friendly and more secure. You will find updated and detailed information about public procurement policies and tender opportunities in Nova Scotia. Nova Scotia Procurement has been working with its partners on a new online procurement application to ensure sustainable service well into the future. The Nova Scotia Procurement Portal will replace the Nova Scotia Public Tenders Application, Tenders Opportunities Notification Service (TONS) and existing webpages.

Supplier access to tender notices will not be interrupted.  However, all existing TONS accounts will be deactivated on the morning of February 13th, 2023 and new accounts will need to be created for this service and other advanced features. Suppliers will have access to the portal by end of day on the 13th. Suppliers are being advised of these changes. The details are available here.
