Community-Led Placemaking Program

ABOUT

The East Preston Empowerment Academy of Nova Scotia used their Community-Led Placemaking project to provide a welcoming place for community to gather outdoors. This project has turned a plot of land in Westphal into a community gathering place—complete with benches, picnic tables, and a gazebo to accommodate a variety of public uses, activations, and programming. This project will also promote the newly renovated and transformed former Nova Scotia Home for Coloured Children (NSHCC) to the Kinney Place, the business hub for black community business owners.
