Community-Led Placemaking Program
ABOUT
Creative projects support creative communities, and the North End Business Association (NEBA) tapped into their local creativity for its Community-Led Placemaking project. This project brought North End locals together for a community bench-building workshop—teaching residents valuable skills, while actively contributing to their community.
Four local architectural design firms were invited to reimagine concrete planners on Gottingen Street and partnered with community organizations to design and build public seating, providing a bright, personal, and welcoming touch. This is part of an ongoing project to bring new public seating to Halifax’s North End.
