Overview
Build Nova Scotia led a series of projects with a focus on developing key waterfront infrastructure and places that support Nova Scotia’s working waterfronts and authentic destinations in economic recovery and growth. Where possible, all new infrastructure will be designed and built to enhance accessibility and adapt to climate change projections.

Cable Wharf Recapitalization Halifax Waterfront
HIGHLIGHTS
- Investment to recapitalize historic Cable Wharf and extend its life by 10 years
- Improving this infrastructure will enhance public safety and enjoyment of the waterfront experience

Zwicker & Co. Warehouse Renovation Lunenburg Waterfront
HIGHLIGHTS
- Investment in Lunenburg waterfront to support priority projects identified in the 5-year Lunenburg Waterfront Master Plan, developed with community
- Project will create permanent accessible marine visitation facilities
- Zwicker building will open up opportunities for lease to private business, further supporting Lunenburg’s waterfront as tourism destination

- Investment also supports the new Stella Maris undersea sensor platform

Halifax Boardwalk and Various Projects
HIGHLIGHTS
- Includes: Foundation Wharves and Boardwalk, Flexible Event Kiosks, Marine Infrastructure in Mahone Bay and Baddeck
- Project will Improve waterfront infrastructure and public space at the old wharves/seawall (near Salt Yard, Halifax waterfront) and surrounding area
- Supports potential future opportunities for business growth and locations for flexible event kiosks
- Complemented by and expanded boardwalk area for more useable wharfage and also expanded public space for people to enjoy
- Investment supports the build and improved shared-access marine infrastructure in Baddeck and flexible floating docks in Mahone Bay

Peggy’s Cove Climate Adaption and Visitor Services
HIGHLIGHTS
- Includes: Road Raising, Climate Mitigation, Accessible Public Washroom, Common Space, Parking Management System, Restoration of Historic DeGarthe Studio
- Build Nova Scotia has been working with the Peggy’s Cove community to create a comprehensive master planning and design process
- Work underway in the community focuses on pedestrian safety, traffic management, coastal protection, community sustainability, and resident and visitor experience (this does not include the viewing platform)
