Sands at Salter

About one-third of the site located at the end of Salter Street, next to Bishop’s Landing is a popular area featuring green space, seating and a connection to an extended boardwalk which features our waterfront hammocks. A mix of local, seasonal businesses line the pathway.

Sections of Sands at Salter were phased in, including grassy and sandy areas, creating an urban beach feel, green space for people to take part in leisure activities, seating and nearby parking. The boardwalk on both sides is connected to the extended portion and the area is home to additional seating through a ‘Free Lab’ project and the waterfront hammocks. The site is also near the venue for signature events such as the Halifax Jazz Festival.
