The historic three-storey, 12,000 square foot wood-frame building was identified as an anchor asset in the Lunenburg Waterfront Master Plan—a plan co-created with community to develop and revitalize Lunenburg’s working waterfront. Over the past 5 years, Develop Nova Scotia has invested more than $11M in the Lunenburg Waterfront through this plan—including the renovation to the Zwicker & Co. Warehouse.
With its prime location on the thriving waterfront and the historical elements of Zwicker & Co. (the original business was founded in 1789), it is a prominent building for the UNESCO World Heritage site. Now, it is ready to open its doors to new potential.
Each of the building’s three floors offers up more than 2,000 square-footage of usable space. The open-concept first floor, mezzanine, and patio offer space for one or more storefront businesses and walk-up customer space, while the upper two floors are ideal for purpose-built business space for a variety of industries. With its location on the Lunenburg waterfront—a significant public gathering space—the Zwicker & Co. Warehouse holds significant potential to service visitors and the community at large all year round.
The Zwicker & Co. Warehouse provides a unique opportunity for leasing businesses to access the heart of Lunenburg’s waterfront, and draw from the town’s picturesque landscape and popular hub for locals and visitors alike. With a combination of marine industry and vibrant community attractions just steps away from the historical attraction, the building is primed to become a pillar of the town’s community and economy as it was for almost 200 years.
Develop Nova Scotia is seeking potential tenants that share the desire to enhance and contribute to the future of the Lunenburg Waterfront. The minimum lease term for interested businesses is five years, with an option to renew the business term for a further five years.
Two optional building tours took place on December 14th and 16th, 2021, both starting at 10am for those considering leasing space. For additional requests, please contact John MacKenzie, Property Manager: john.mackenzie@buildns.ca
