BACKGROUND
Located in the former Canadian Coast Guard facility on Halifax Harbour, the official launch COVE took place in 2018 with a variety of industry, partners and tenants on hand.
The site features extensive marine facilities, including two large deep-water piers, offices, an incubator (Start-Up Yard), shops, and labs, serving as a major hub for ocean technology innovation with deep-water access, industrial power, and support for marine businesses. COVE is a certified Green Marine facility.
The Colin MacLean Hall at COVE was dedicated in memory of the late Colin MacLean. This marine technology hub grew from a vision inspired by the former Waterfront Development president and key leader in driving NSCC’s evolution to becoming a modern post-secondary institution.
