Business Opportunity on the Halifax Waterfront

UPDATE AS OF APRIL 25, 2023: This opportunity has now closed.

March 6, 2023—Halifax, NS: Let’s make waves together on the waterfront. Build Nova Scotia is seeking a local business to operate the unique waterfront property at 1655 Lower Water Street. This building was the home of a Visitor Information Centre operated by Tourism Nova Scotia, so is ideally located on the busy stretch of boardwalk between the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic and the iconic Wave sculpture.

Build Nova Scotia is looking for a local business with a high-quality offering that represents the best our province has to offer. The property can support a wide range of businesses—Nova Scotian-made products and experiential offerings are all on the table. The more local the offering, the better. We’re exceptionally proud of our makers, crafters, producers, and growers. Consider this is a platform to share these high-quality goods with the world.

What you do certainly matters, but how you do it is important to us too. Build Nova Scotia is committed to providing platforms for sustainable, inclusive, and diverse economic growth and we’re looking for the same values and intentional efforts that contribute to creating a welcoming place for everyone.

An optional site visit will be conducted on Friday, April 14, 2023 at 3:00pm AST.

The meeting point will be in front of 1655 Lower Water Street (or across from the submarine playground!)

Closing date on opportunity: Monday, April 24, 2023 at 2:00pm AST
